Corrections are most useful when they name the page, the sentence or image at issue, and the reference that would make the guide more accurate.

Corrections

Useful corrections include the page URL, the sentence that needs attention, the work or edition involved, and a short explanation of the issue. The strongest corrections include a reliable reference or a precise location in the source text.

Rights and image questions

If an image credit, public-domain status, or attribution appears wrong, send the page URL and the image note. The image should be replaced or removed when its license, creator credit, or page fit cannot be verified.

  • Include the page URL and the image caption.
  • Name the source page, license issue, or creator-credit problem when possible.
  • Contextual images are not claims that a literal scene is pictured.

Before a public mailbox is listed

A mailbox or form should appear here only after it is real, monitored, and connected to the final public site. Until then, correction notes should stay with the person or channel that shared the preview.
